ఫండిత గొర్రెపాటివెంకటసుబ్బయ్య
(1898-1982)
వూళ్ళో వాళ్ళు ఎర్ర వెంకటసుబ్బయ్య అనేవారు. బయటి వారు పండిత అని చేర్చారు. మరో వెంకట సుబ్బయ్య నల్లగా వుండడం, ఇరువురూ ఆచార్యరంగా అభిమానులు గావడం వలన, తేడా కోసం అలా జరిగింది.
విజయవాడలో 1960 ప్రాంతాలలో ఆయనతో పరిచయమైంది. మంచి మనస్సు గల వ్యక్తి. ఆయన అల్లుడు బొందలపాటి శివరామకృష్ణ దేశి కవితా ప్రచురణల ద్వారా పుస్తకాలు వెలువరిస్తుండేవారు. వెంకట సుబ్బయ్య గారి కుమార్తె శకుంతలా దేవి కూడా కొన్ని రచనలు చేశారు. ఆంధ్రలో శరత్ సాహిత్యాన్ని ఇంటింటా ప్రచారం కావడానికి వీరే కారణం. వెంకట సుబ్బయ్యగారి రచనలు కూడా దేశి కవితా వారే ముద్రించారు. అనేక పర్యాయాలు వారిని కలసి ముచ్చటించాం. విషయ సేకరణ ఆసక్తిగలవారు. అయితే ఒక క్రమపద్ధతి వుండేదికాదు.
వెంకటసుబ్బయ్య గారి రచనలలో జీవిత చిత్రణలు ఎక్కువ. ఆచార్య రంగాను గురించి పుస్తకం రాస్తే అందులో రంగాను ఎక్కడ ప్రస్తావించరో వెతుక్కో వాల్సిందే. అనేక పూర్వాపరాలు, ఉదంతాల మధ్య అసలు విషయం యిరుక్కొని వుండేది. రచయితగా ఆసక్తి వున్నది గాని, చరిత్ర రచనలో శిక్షణ లోపం బాగా కనిపించేది. ఆయన దగ్గర కూర్చొని మాట్లాడినప్పుడు కూడా సంభాషణలు ఎటో వెడుతుండేవి.
రచనలు : ఆచార్య రంగా, ప్రకాశం, సరోజనీదేవి, సి. ఆర్. రెడ్డి, గొట్టిపాటి బ్రహ్మయ్య వల్లభాయి పటేల్, లాలాలజపతిరాయ్, చలం, కాశీనాథుని నాగేశ్వరరావు పంతులు, నవ మేధావి నార్ల, శరద్దర్శనం, అక్షరాభిషేకం మన జమిందారీలు, ఘంటసాల చరిత్ర.

Now, video.google.com has a huge collection of videos. What I like most are the videos that show talks that were held in Google itself. Those are renowned people who came to Google to give a talk to Google employees - to expand the horizons of the minds that work for Google.
What I find superb, is that Google videotapes those talks and puts them on http://video.google.com for all to see! In a world that closes and even locks its doors always and to everybody, Google allows you to be part of the audience! Kudos to Google!
